Why was De-Funding of Planned Parenthood so important to the GOP/Tea Party caucus?

Mine is not only based upon morality, but more based upon facts the fact is planned parenthood made a 1 billion dollar profit, which doing so in my book means that they do not require federal funding, I feel the same way about all of the bail outs to banks and other corporations. If you make a profit you should not get a grant or funding from the taxpayers in my opinion
