Why don't Ron Paul and Rand Paul switch their party, since they're already in office, to Libertarian?

I think the more conservative Republicans would be far more likely to vote for Ron/Rand over a conservative Democrat, but whether they would vote for Ron/Rand over a conservative Republican is more shaky.
